    California Ammo Laws?

    Hey guys,

any good links to laws on restricted ammunition etc. I was just looking at some videos today of explosive shotgun shells and thought they looked fun to shoot but I probably dont even have to ask but I would assume definitely not legal in CA.

Any ammo that is "Fun" is illegal. No tracers, Incendiary, some AP bullets etc.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Depends where you live, there are a few cities that do not allow mail order ammo.

I think technically only the city of LA bans online ammo purchases not the county of LA and I wanna say the city of San Francisco also banned online ammo purchases. I think a lot of retailers choose to avoid LA county as a whole for some reason. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Van nuys is la city not county and lots of retalers ship there. More fud. If your zip starts with 90 and says los angeles lots won't ship. Lots of posts on this.

I don't think it is illegal to buy ammo online in the City of L.A., it's just that ammo purchases made in the city require ID and a thumbprint. Some online retailers have taken that to mean that they can't sell ammo to you via an online purchase.

Do you know any companies shipping to Van Nuys and how do they get around the thumbprint?

I haven't experienced any that wouldn't ship to me.
