dollar a pound on ebay.but scrap has fallen way down dont know the effects on lead.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

If this is in the form of bullets that have been shot and includes bullet jackets this would be considered dirty lead and I would put in the same class as wheel weights . they are asking .65 a pound in small quanities on ebay . It takes time to clean the unwanted metals out of the mix . In the large amount you have I would think the scrap value in taking to a recycler would be pretty low .

I think lead is trading somewhere around .44 cents a lb.

        That's clean lead.

Just as a side note , I have bought used wheel weights from the tire store a few times at $20 for a 5 gallon bucket and thats 135-150 lbs , that a average of about 14 cents a pound . that is local and so I just pick it up , no shipping

Ok , Maybe I should have been more specific . I have bought 5 gallon bucket of wheel weights for 20-25 dollars in the last 6 months , it seems to depend on witch guy is working .

The price really depends on how clean the lead is. Tire weights and old bullets tend to have a lot of trash mixed in them. I probably get about a 65-75% yield from them.

Do you really smelt your own bullets? What kind of time/equipment must that take?
