    Ammoman .223 options

Alright folks.....probably a newbie question but here goes.

I'm getting into the AR craze on my own after shooting with my Dad for many years when I was younger. Since he always bought ammo, I have no clue what he was buying. I'm sure it wasn't anything special since all we did was general plinking and target shooting in the desert and on private lands.

Here's my question. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for if all I'm doing is the same as above. I don't need match quality or anything.....do I just buy the cheapest stuff, or is it better to spend a few extra bucks for something else.

Looking at ammoman.com these are some of my options. Or do you suggest something from another vendor??
    Thanks in advance.

Ammo prices have changed in the last 10yrs for sure. Finding surplus ammo in 7.62x39, .223, .308 (brass) is still readily found. I like using AIM, been using them for past 5-6yrs. Picked up some Serb stuff along with Fiocchi. Both shot well. Fiocchi seemed a little hotter, not sure but was clean.

I'd say go with the Privi Partizan at AIM. Or look here http://gun-deals.com/ammo.php?caliber=.223

In the past I used J &G sales, man those were the days.

If you plan to shoot a LOT of ammo go with brass cased for sure. Save it all and reload it later. Unless you are totally rich than just buy a bunch of the cheap crud. Of course steel cased ammo is dirtier than the rest so it will require extra cleaning to ensure proper function of an AR pattern weapon that is known to have reliability issues when dirty.
