    Warning: Freedom Ammunition

I was recently browsing AmmoSeek looking for some new 9mm when I came across a really good deal on Freedom Ammunition. (LINK)

The deal seemed too good, so I tried googling Freedom Ammunition to make sure it wasn't a rip-off site. I couldn't find anything about them specifically, because it was only returning hits for Freedom Munitions (which are completely separate companies). So I emailed the site to make sure that the ammo was actually new.

This revealed that the ammo is, in fact, remanufactured and is not new. Even though the description says it's manufactured by magtech. Even though they show a box from magtech. So, I emailed them back. This was apparently a mistake, because things went downhilll quickly.

Now, looking around, I see that other people have had the same issues:

I would warn people away from using Freedom Ammunitions because they are deceptive in their advertising and their customer service is beyond terrible.

Note: this has nothing to do with Freedom Munitions http://www.freedommunitions.com/ who I've had really good experiences with.

Mixed could mean that it's a mixture of different headstamps, but that doesn't indicate whether it's new manufacture with brass from multiple companies or reloaded with brass from multiple companies.

Either way, seems like the guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

I talked to a guy at a show once who was selling ammo (a brand many of you know). I asked if it was new manufacture or reloads and he goes into a monologue about the cost of the machines and the quality of the ammo. I asked again, "So it's reloads right" and he says "yes it's reloads" and I said, "Okay, I'll take 1,000". He asks why I asked about it being reloads and I said, "because I was curious".

People don't get that questions are just questions and they don't need to take everything personally.

Last I checked, it was illegal to use the name of another company to sell your own product.

The only positive thing I have heard about FA is that it is cheap. You generally get what you pay for.

Freedom muntions sells new and reloaded ammo. I've never had any problems with the new stuff. The other company I know nothing about.

Just to be clear, I've purchased from Freedom Munitions many times and never had a problem with them.

Freedom Ammunitions is a completely different company.

Adding to their customer base by riding the coattails of an established company. And probably hoping that any poor reviews (of which I'm sure are many) will be attributed to their better placed, higher quality competitor.

Thanks for the heads up OP. You probably just saved at least a few people who only see price and sometimes fall short in the researching of a company and their products.

I just emailed Magtech to notify them of a possible copyright violation by Freedom Ammunitions. Hopefully their legal dept will shut down this clowns false advertisement.

Shady advertising, and a crappy attitude when called on it! Definitely sounds like they're trying to ride Freedom's coattails, I'm surprised they haven't been sued for it already. We have a small ammo manufacturing company in Texas, a lot of our product is remanufactured ammo -- and I'm always very careful to put that in our ads, and it's EVERYWHERE on our website. I can't imagine treating my customers like that, and expecting them to continue being customers.
