    I love old reloading tools

I have a weird appreciation for the older reloading tools.

While browsing the Reno Gun Show, I came across this old ideal tool. I've been wanting one for a long time, but never found a decently priced one. I picked this up for $45 and I couldn't be happier.

It's a little rough, but loads ammo just fine. I'm going to break out the casting pit next week and even cast with it. I believe it casts 150gr bullet.

The 30-30 case to the right Is my gallery load. 110gr bullet with 5 gr of 700x. I've gone down to about 3.5, I'm a still working it down. It's a fun little shooter.

My only complaint is some weird smell that I need to somehow get off.

Anyone else have some cool, old tools?

My Dad has literally a basement full of old reloading tools. Dies, molds, presses, lead pot, you name it. It's amazing to look at the quality level of them and how well they were made. Really puts newer pieces to shame.

From the title I thought you were talking about finally coming out of the closet and expressing your undying devotion to Big Bronco but couldn't figure out why you though he was a tool.

Now that I read the OP and see the pic I understand. Nice find by the way.

Hmmm. Looks more an S&M device used in medieval times. I'd not even know how to use it.

          I love old tools also.

I have to agree with JMP on this one though... I wouldn't know how to use that.

Do you know any sources where I can research how to use it?

I'm starting to collect them slowly.

I'll take them if you don't want them

                  Cool loading tool!

                  I like the 310. I have 222Rem, 300Sav, 30-06 and 8mm Mauser. Want to get 35Rem, 45/70 and 45 Colt too.

Old reloading tools are a fascinating study on their own.

Cool addition to your reloading equipment; it's especially cool that you used it.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.
