    durability of presses

so my step dad broke the primer feeder on my new rcbs turrett press and i cant find just that part by itself online anywhere... then today i come home and i find he piled a ton of crap up against my press which has the dies in it right now .. how reliable is a press cause everything has to be such tight tolerances how could i check to see if anything is bent etc..or should i just make him anti up and buy me a new one? soooo irratating!!

Have you tried contacting RCBS directly?

i would check the settings of the dies, to make sure they didn't get bumped and change depth, but the rest should be fine. did you call RCBS about the primer feeder? they will have it even if no one else does. even if they don't sell it, they might work with you to get you one.

why don't you run a couple of cases and use a dial caliper to check if it is still within spec.

Give RCBS a call about the primer feeder. I'm sure they will take care of you.

RCBS has great customer support and will replace the broken parts for free. What model press do you have? Most of the RCBS stuff would take a lot of abuse.

This is why Dillon rules, by a huge amount. Replacement parts. Free. ASAP. Their 'No BS guarantee' is just that.

And to the OP, the presses are certainly tough enough for your Precious to have some things piled against it. They HAVE to be, to withstand the mechanical stresses of reloading.

Going on 20yrs with my Dillon 550B, and I've only had a few minor glitches, most self-inflicted. And Dillon has lived up to their promises in every way.

/damn this Blue Koolaid is tasty, try some!

                        RCBS is the same way.
Ask a question and you usually get a response within a day and the parts within 2 or 3 days.

It's a three step process to fix your problem:
                          1. Move out of step dad's house.
                          2. Call RCBS and take advantage of the customer service you have already paid for.
                          3. Don't look back!!
