Anyone here loading for the 17 Hornet?
I just did the paperwork on a CZ527 and all I have is some 20 grain V-Max on order.
Any pet loads?

Hornady manual #9 using Alliant 2400 powder the starting charge is 7.8 and the maximum charge is 8.8 grains. Velocity is from 3200 - 3500 fps. COAL = 1.710

9.3 grains of Lil gun and a 20 grain zmax bullet and I get near 3600 fps and .5 to .75 inch groups at 100 yards

lil gun is the powder. brass has been nonexistent for what seems like years and loaded ammo is hit and miss .but great fun when you shoot it.
i anneal the brass but the primer pockets will start to loosen pretty quick. guessing 5 or 6 reloads.

I've used lilgun powder with success. Bought a Satern powder funnel to get powder into the case. The 20 grain V max bullets from Hornady work great.
That CZ you bought is a fine Rifle

Are you guys using 17 Hornet brass or 22 Hornet brass sized down?

6 of 1 , half dozen of another. Have had trouble in the past finding brass for both . Use what you can find , they will both work .

TC Contenders are fun .

I purchased 17 hornet brass and bought some factory ammo. Factory ammo was just a few cents more per round than buying factory brass
