    Ranger Talon

I have been looking for Winchester Ranger Talon for my .45 230gr. Only place that has them in stock is ammo to go, but 49.95 for 50 rounds seems high.

Anyone know another site that has them for less? Or is that about the going rate.

Miwall had them for 39 a box at the Bakersfield gun show. FBI now uses this ammo and made a huge contract w/ winchester. Its very good ammo, not old school. Basically the same as gold dot, but w/ talons.

It's good stuff. Actually, is basically Black Talon, but with new look. There's a range in Laguna ?Niguel that has them fairly often - IIRK at < than the online price quoted above.

Ahh, Black Talons! Those were the good days.

I remember the whole, "OMG! Shooting people with bullets that shred tissue when it penetrates is inhumane!". What a bunch of crock!

Of course I bought a whole bunch of it because of the cool factor. Hell, the bullets were black, too! Never shot any of it. Then after the bru-ha-ha, Winchester made the "Ranger" without claws. That took the fun out of it.

The problem, I CAN'T figure out where I stashed my stash! I have some cool shotgun rounds with it too. Ones that shot out dime-sized discs and fragmented metal shards. (Got those from Kloz Firearms in Mountain View)

I'll be at the SJ Gun Show this weekend, I'll look around for those Rangers.

I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

The Ranger T does have the Talons, look inside the hollow point, the brass points going down inside are the talons. T is for Talon hahaha
