    Strange Residue in Brass

I was cleaning some of my newly acquired .45 brass and as I was taking it out of the media separator, I noticed a strange orange residue in the brass It seems more waxy than like rust.

It's all TZZ/IMI brass from the mid to late 80's. The WCC brass that was in the same can is fine.

Anyone have any ideas what it might be? Or better yet, how can I get rid of it?

    Possibly case lube?

If it is wax based, maybe boiling hot water rinse and drying.
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

You can correct my spelling and grammar error anytime.
I welcome it. How else would I learn.

Maybe it was bullet sealant residue that collected some of the tumbling media polish.

Are you using Lyman Tuff-Nut walnut?

Looks like the XXF powdered red rouge I add to my pet store walnut. It wouldn't surprise me if it was added to tumbling media.

Lizard bedding walnut with a cap full of Tru-Finish (Stuff in the orange bottle that costs $6 @ WalMart)

I cleaned the IMI/TZZ at the same time as the WCC. Its just the IMI/TZZ that has the residue. Nothing in the WCC.

It just seems kind of strange.
