I'd recommend a cheap Lyman trimmer that comes with an arbor to attach to a drill and an arbor with a hand crank.

There are many other types of trimmers, I have about 6 myself but, the one I'm suggesting is not overly expensive and very inexpensive to adapt to other calibers.

I agree with you. Get the Lyman Universal trimmer. It think it is $60 or so with all the attachments and then get the power drill attachment for $20. Trust me, get the drill attachment it will save you so much time and effort.

They carry the trimmer at Sportsmans Warehouse. Graf's is great to deal with. I made several orders through them recently and they offer free shipping. I placed my orders on Saturday nights and I got them on Thursday of the next week.

I have e Hornady trimmer that is well built, relatively inexpensive, and easy to use. Highly recommended.

          +1 on the lyman.great value.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

Save your pennies and get the Giraud Power Trimmer. Well worth every single penny that I paid for it. I was able to trim about 15k of .223 and .308 in about 4 days.

I have a Giraud, a CH4D, a K&M, a Lynman and I think one or two more that I never use. For the time being and for what the OP wants/needs to do, the Lyman (or similar) is the best deal for him. Unfortunatly, the Giraud can not do all types of trimming and so, it's not always the best choice. Don't get me wrong, for quantities of bottlenecked cartridges, it can be the greatest trimmer ever but, it isn't able to trim things like 50 DTC, .30 carbine, 45-70 and many different wildcats either can't be trimmed or a custom bushing would have to be reamed. Reaming a custom bushing would cost more than a Lyman kit would so, you really need to do a cost benefit analizes before recommending someone spend a lot of cash on something that might not work for them. My Giraud is not capable of trimming my 32-20 brass down to make 7.5 Nagant brass out of it, period. For some applications, the Giraud just doesn't work.

                Chief,

If you ever plan on loading small quantities of various rifle calibers, you might want to look at getting a Lyman type set up as well. I only load 100-300 rounds each of 8mm, 30-30, 7.62x54R, 25-20, 44-40, 30-06, etc. per year so, the cost of buying Giraud bushings for all of these calibers is not worth it to me. It's easier and cheaper to use a different type of trimmer.

If it doesn't come with a motor or you can't stick a drill on it, then I would not even consider it.
