Bulk Brass for Reloading

So I recently got myself a Ruger Gunsite Scout and after reading up on Brown Bear 308 ammo I have considered buying brass 308 so I can reload it later. I have read people having good results with PMC brass, but wanted to ask the calgunners what they thought.

Mainly about the quality of PMC brass and if it's a good idea to get a bulk shipment for reloading later. Suggestions are appreciated regarding different brass and ammo. I am looking for something that won't break the bank, but will last after multiple reloads. My intentions for the ammo are hunting (much later down the road) and mainly target/plinking.

You get what you pay for. Lapua brass is the one you want. I started out buying cheap brass and bullets for my .223 but luckily these Calguns guys straightened me out. Lapua brass and Nosler bullets, you'll never regret it.

As far as bulk goes would you recommend pmc? Reloading will be down the road due to living in a small apt and i would like to get some rounds down range for practice. One reason i was thinking about brown bear ammo.

Where do you live. I have 1,000s of pieces of once fired, stainless steel cleaned and annealed Hornady Match brass.

PMC is good brass. My only issue with it is that the flash holes are off center.

No. It looks bad and many people complain. But it does no harm.

Okay, i found a sale on a 500rd case for 320 shipped and am on the ball about pulling the trigger. A friend who works at a shop was recommending pmc due to cost and good brass for the money.

I got lake city a while back. Shot from navy guns here in SF Bay. Clean up well and fine for my M1A that beats the hell out of brass anyway.

The rifle you purchased is far from a bench rest competition worthy arm. The criteria you set for the use of the cases you asked about in that rifle. Are far from benchrest competition accuracy goals.

Go with the PMC, bulk commercial RemChester, or GI surplus. All are perfectly suited to your stated parameters. If you want to increase consistancy in the accuracy of your ammo. Buy ammo in lots of 100 [5 boxes of 20] with same lot #. After firing in your chamber. They are fireformed to your chamber. Keep them sorted by lot #.

If you want those cases to last as many loads as possible. Neck size them, NOT FL, and anneal every 3-5 loadings.

You don't have to spend $1.00 per case on empty Lapua to make perfectly serviceable accurate ammo capable of MOA or better.

The empties from that 500 rnd case will keep you shooting for years.
