    Some Insight Please

I just purchased my first handgun in about 30 years. Things have changed a whole lot since. My first question is the handgun I purchased is a Glock 22, I want to do two things first is what is the cleanest and best ammo for the Glock 22 and second I'm looking at doing my own reloading, I have done this in the past but I need to get familiarized with it again, 30 years is a long time, were is the best place to get info on reloading.

    Thanks

Congrats on a great choice. One nice thing about Glocks, is that they are not finicky about ammo. Even the dirty Wolf ammo will work fine. Try of few loads at the range and see what works for you and your gun.
You will get plenty of advice here. Another good forum is glocktalk.com

For stock Glocks, you'll want to stay with jacketed rounds (as opposed to fully exposed lead bullets).

For reloading information, I'd read as many reloading manuals as I could get my hands on. Others will definitely have sugggestions as to their favorites.

The best ammo to feed any gun is the one you load in IMO. Or even factory ammo.. Glocks will eat anything you give it.

Dont be lazy, and clean your guns after every range session..

          Oops, good catch.
Octagonal rifling does not like lead bullets. +1 on staying with jacketed ammo.

Glocks would eat pretty much anything, as others stated, as long as it's jacketed, since they have polygonal barrels. To me, it's a matter of cleaning afterwards, so I use Winchester white box, it's quite clean, as opposed to Wolf or Magtech, and it's relatively cheap.

I heard of people having issues feeding hollow points, but I never experienced any such. I use WInchester Ranger and Federal whatever-shok for HP.

Thanks for the information. I always liked to use FMJ ammo, It's not that I don't want to clean the gun, I just don't like anything that can scar or shorten the life of my gun. Hence clean ammo. Thanks Again!

Glock chambers are on the large side. Thats why they will eat anything.
If your going to reload I'd recomend replacing the barrel with an after market one with a tighter chamber and conventional rifling.
Also the Glock 40 cal chambers don't fully support the brass. A ruptured case is possible after a few reloading cycles.
                    Hope this helps

He is a good place for reloading data. It tells you what round they used, caliver, weight, everything and what kind of powder. It also gives start loads and max loads for each combination. Great tool IMHO
