100 gr GMX in .270 Win

Anyone use the 100gr GMX in .270 win load? I am looking to make up a flat shooting load to 300 yards for my .270 win for deer and hogs. That 100 gr GMX looks good for that, wonder how the performance is? Any recipes?

In my 270 Win., I shoot the 110 gr. Barnes TTSX using 52.0 gr. of Reloader 15. I get 3200 fps out of my 22" Tikka T3 and they shoot well. I haven't had a chance to use them on Game yet.

These shot MOA or better, so I didn't try to get any faster. I would guess you would get similar results. I did try some with 58.0 of H-4350, which shot a little over MOA, but I didn't chrono them. I tried 56.0 of W-760, which shot 1.5 MOA. Didn't chrono that load either. I've stuck with the 52.0 of Re-15 since it shot a little better than the two other loads. 3200 FPS should get me pretty flat out to 300.

I shied away from the Hornady GMX because I tried their 130 gr. GMX in the same rifle and couldn't get better than 2-3 MOA out of them with four different powders. I even contacted Hornady about it and sent some bullets back to them for testing. They tested them and reported they shot MOA out of their rifle. I haven't bought them since.

My rifle does shoot the Barnes 130 gr. TSX at MOA or so.

I believe these lighter 270 bullets will be a good medium game bullet.

My Rem. 700, 270 really likes the Barnes 130 gr TSX. Shoots MOA @ 200 yds. Never printed paper farther than that. But has given good exits on deer out to 350 yds.

I have had better accuracy with the barnes than the Hornady. I will say I have only tried the Hornady 150GMX 308cal bullets. But that was in several rifles and 2 different 308caliber cartridges.

If you get good/excellent groups at speed with the GMX then good for you and use them. I just now prefer(only) use barnes TTSX bullets myself. If it aint broke do not fix it.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
