    7.62x39 Question

    Hey Guys,
I just acquired this case of 1440 rds of Russian 123 gr non corrosive ammo that made its way over before the ban. All the bricks are here and intact. These are NOT the hollow points. They're in great condition and I've never seen an entire case like this. I'm just curious as to what you guys think the value of this is. I'm trying to convince my wife I made a sound purchase! Help me out guys this couch is getting uncomfortable!!

I would say it is worth about $250 to $300.

I have shot a lot of that in the past. It didn't seem any different than modern Wolf ammo.
It should be worth 4.00 to 5.00 a box on today's market.

I believe that your ammo is corrosive. The boxes were marked non corrosive, but it was latter found out that the Russian factory miss marked it by mistake. The latter boxes are marked corrosive. I believe most of it was imported by Century. I recommend pulling a bullet and firing the case on a steel nail, to test it, if it does not rust in a few days it is non corrosive.

If it's corrosive it's worth components.

If you were hoping to cash in on a shortage, then your purchase was not a winner (unless you got it for under $150... in that case... congratulations are in order.)

If you got it to shoot for less than $300, you got a fair deal.

You joined two days ago and are all ready making speculative ammo purchases? Why didn't you ask here before buying? It's yours now, might as well tell us what you paid.

I have the exact same stuff. It is NON-CORROSIVE! As far as value goes....$4-$5/box of 20 is about right. Now, if that were the brass cased stuff we'd likey be having a different conversation.
