17$ per 50 is what I'm finding when I search online. Ammunitiontogo has Aguila .30 caliber 169$ for 500 rounds but I have no idea how well it shoots.

Aquila stuff is ok. Not the best but it will go bang and fling bullets down range. Really all the good-priced .30 Carbine ammo (surplus and cheaper commercial) dried up 2-3 years ago. I'd say whatever you get, save the brass get some bullets and reload.

        Wolf 30 Carbine

You can buy Wolf 30 carbine ammo for about 20 cents a round. Its not bad, fine for plinking.

In the .30 Carbine you are not looking at a match-grade rifle, so anything that functions will work. I bought some Sellier & Belloit that worked well, but the Wolf and others should work as well. US Gov't ball is best. You can find ball ammo at gun shows from time to time.

I shoot mostly wolf from mine. S&B is better for not much more. Reloadable, too. My Automag III and my Blackhawk like the S&B much more. I have a *large* stash of surplus ball ammo as this is one of my shtf calibers, since I have more than a few chambered in it. =]

+1 for Wolf 30 Carbine - it's actually fairly accurate, and cleaner than their .223.
