    M2 Ball Pricing

I searched online and here in CGN and this is the closest that I found. That thread is 2 years old, in the height of the last panic, and was AP.

I know.....another "what's my stuff worth" thread.....but I don't know what to measure this stuff against as I don't see it for sale any more. Anyway, here is a picture of the can:

    M2.jpg

I'm in SLO county and I don't really want to mess with shipping. I'd drive north to Paso Robles and south to Orcutt to meet someone. I know that this narrows the scope of potential buyers and will subsequently effect value.

So, what say you CGN? What is this can-o-boolets worth? Should I sell now, or wait another 5-10 years? I've got a M1917, but I have a ton of brass already for it, so shooting this doesn't make much sense to me....depending upon what it's worth.

**EDIT** I will NOT sell this item at ANY price subsequent to any dialog from this thread. I am genuinely seeking value and/or advice on holding on to it. If I do decide to sell, I will start another thread in the appropriate forum.

Unless you need the money save it for after this state goes bankrupt from all the wasteful spending programs. You know all the welfare leeches will rise up in rioting protest when they cant buy Sirloin steaks with their EBT cards LOL

      My $0.02,

Check the lot #'s and determine production year and whether the M2 was corrosive.

Corrosive M2 has less value. Non corrosive M2 value is fluid and the price point is set by market. I paid $220.00 for a sealed spam can last year.

I have seen it offered for sale up to $2.00 per.....no buyers

So what is the price if you won't ship?

It depends if there are many Garand shooters looking for unknown condition surplus in your area.

For prices, look at gun broker...
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
        (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I thought about that.....but unless the seller is in CA, it's really an apples and oranges thing....

M2 is harder to find than HXP or euro surplus. M2 is good ammo.

Is this the price that you would like to pay or can you sell some at that price?

Oh yeah, I remember when it was $48 a can and .22 were $0.03 per.

Fond memories of days gone by....living in the past is cheaper

Survivalist types and collectors both pay a premium for spam cans, and having it on clips and bandoleers is great too. But unless you have "that guy" down the street you're not going to get top dollar. So basically what you would want to do is list it on gunbroker and let them fight it out and plan on shipping it - it's really not a big deal.

Just saw this sell reciently.,520 rd spam can Lake City $400 shipped
Can you get more than .80 per round? Possibly from someone who doesnt know any better. Personally I would buy commercial PPU before paying a premium for old surplus Lake City. In fact with the price increase of HXP commerc ial ammo is looking better all the time
