    Reloading 44 special advice

Have a Smith and Wesson model 329 (4' scandium frame) looking for reloading info have 200 gr extreme jacketed flat point and a bunch of power pistol powder. Looking for light target loads so maybe wife can shoot it and or fun at the range for practice. Thanks.

Sure. 4.8 grains of either Bullseye or Titegroup works well in .44 Spl. I use these for light loads. They chrono right around 750 fps with my 200gr cast boolits. You'll need something that light with that scandium frame featherweight.

Power Pistol, here's what Hornady's 8th Edition says for 200gr jacketed HP's, out of a 3" bbl Charter Arms Bulldog.

      Starting load: 5.9gr (650 fps)
      Max load 8.5gr (900 fps)

6.4gr gets you 700 fps, 6.9gr gets you 750 fps. I'd first try 6.4gr and see how that feels.

Thank you have the 8th edition also just wanted to double check others feelings as if I should consider the flat point and the XTP the same load.
