    XM855CS No paint 62gr ??

Do anyone have any idea on Federal XM855CSNP ?
The NP stands for no paint, meaning the green tip is not painted.
I think it shouldn't be a problem, but I rather ask folks for advice before taking the jump.
It comes 2000rnds per box at around 40cent before shipping.
    Gtg or save my $$$$.
    thanks

Most demilled/pulled barely have any paint, or you can seek many more MFRs making "SS109" loaded ammo, and I don't think they have paint. I believe that the paint was to differentiate M855 from M193 so one matched the right-twist rifles with the correct ammo more easily (helping privates make less mistakes in and out of the Ammo Dump?).

Many people have shot non-green-tipped SS109 ammo with no issues.

You are looking to make an $800 purchase, but have you thought about a reloading press?
"Right now" I am reloading pulled SS109/M855 projectiles into cartridges for $0.24 ea, and that is almost a 50% savings.

    .40-.24=.16
.16*2000=$320 savings per 2000 rounds, so you could recoup the cost of the press in a short time... and shoot more for less after the cost-recoup of the reloading equipment catches up...

Pick a lane at your local range, especially during shortages.
    Stack them deeper, for cheaper...

      .
Seriously wish I could, but basically got no time to sit behind the press for now. May be one day I will have the luxury to try that.
I guess you can't win always.
Thanks for the reply and the $$$ saving advise though...happy plinking
