M855/ss109 bullets

I was thinking about buying some ss109 bullets for plinking. Although I haven't started to reload yet, I'm curious if these type of bullets are worth it. They seem they r on the pricey side $178 per 1k.
Just curious on peoples opinions.

For plinking just buy Hornady 55gr FMJBTs for about $85.00 to $95.00 shipped per 1000.

Pretty much this. They were under threat of being banned and it seems that the panic prices haven't dropped. Plus, you'll get more accuracy out of a good 55 grain FMJBT anyway, so it is win-win-win.

I bought 1,250 copperhead 55gr .224" bullets for $70 flat, and that included shipping.
that was during some sale I guess, now its 73 with $6 shipping. at least they don't joo you on the shipping.
