    custom full length resizing dies

Anyone using custom full length sizing dies machined for your specific rifle chamber from fired brass? How has it worked for you?

whidden dies keeps popping up on snipershide but its out of my budget for now. my rifle also shoots great without the need for 600 sizing dies.
primer, powder, projecile, press, load, fire repeat!

If you fire them in your rifle then neck size, isnt that the same or better?

I am currently using redding FL dies for my 6.5 creedmoor tac rifle and plan on NOT switching this particular one to custom dies. The regular FL dies are doing just fine.

My current 284 Shehane used in my F-Open gun is using whidden off-the-shelf bushing dies. I am changing my reamer to increase my FB and when I make this change, am debating on custom dies.

My upcoming 6 dasher dies, I am still debating...Seems like guys are doing well with regular dies made by whidden or redding.

Neck sizing increases case life typically and realistically I have not had issues with neck dies, but stopped using them because I was magazine feeding my 6.5 creedmoor and needed the reliability of FL sizing. Neck sizing rounds could have the potential for being difficult to chamber.

The shift towards FL resizing or separate body dies and neck dies are becoming the norm for competition. I only use FL dies now.

I like whidden dies, but redding competition S dies are also nice.

I am not sure what caliber you are shooting, but for my 22BR I use a Harrell's Precision full length bushing sizing die.

You send him about 4 fired cases from your rifle and he has sends you back a die that will just size your case enough to provide reliable chambering.

I get .001" shoulder setback. It barely even feels like they are being sized it fits so well. All rounds chamber with slight pressure on the bolt with my index finger.

            Bsumoba,

In addition to what you mentioned about neck sizing dies, a reported problem I have heard is the neck being resized and not remaining concentric to the case body.

I only full length size so can't comment on whether this is a true problem...
