I just got the World's Finest Trimmer II

I just got the Little Crow World's Finest Trimmer II with numerous inserts for rifle cartridges. I've used the first generation and liked it. When they came out with the second generation with inserts, I bit the bullet. I'm loving it! It is so easy to use and adjust and change calibers. Plus it indexes off the shoulder as opposed to elsewhere. It just cuts so well and square. I just touch them up with a Lyman case prep center and they're perfect.

I'm so tired or hand cranking the Lyman universal case trimmer. It's a new, happy day!

Nice. I'm glad it's working out for you. I recently opted for a gen1 model to trim 300 blk.

I chose gen 1 because I knew the adjustment for cutting depth was done with with 2 sets rews on a drill bit and that it would take me forever to get it just right. I was correct. It took me 30 mins and 30 cases to get the thing set perfect. I knew I wouldn't want to have to re setup after every caliber so I decided I would just bite the bullet and buy one for every caliber I needed it for.

How much trouble have you had switching calibers?

Really quick to change calibers. I have a "Master" case for each caliber. You loosen both set screws, insert the master case and tighten the screws. Its always within about one, one thousandths. I don't bother from there. If I'm within one, one thousandths, I'm good.

It also gave me a good reason to pick up a new 1/2" drill. Brand new Chicago Electric 1/2" chuck cordless drill with quick re-charge from Harbor Freight for $44. Not bad.

Yep, I use the same set-up. The one plus with a heavy drill battery is that it stays sitting flat on the bench and does not tip while trimming. -g

That trimmer looks nice. In my opinion it looks like it takes a bit longer than using the drill method with the LEE case trimming. Also the LEE method is not as expensive to obtain.

I don't see how anything could be faster than a WFT, especially the Lee trimmer. The only thing faster, in my opinion, is a Dillon RT 1200 in a progressive press.

so how does this work? is it like a case gauge where the shell fits into a certain length within collet and you run it until it fits in? kinda like fool proof?

Giraud case trimmer is pretty quick, plus it chamfers the inside and outside of the neck all in one step. It runs quieter than a cordless drill also. The machine is stationary so you can feed it with two hands. One hand is grabbing the next case while the other is holding the case in the trimmer.

Giraud is faster. Have them both. Both work.

Which one do you like more, or use more often?
