    Request for load recipe .223 & H414

Anyone have an accurate load recipe for .223 with 69gr Sierra matchking BTHP and H414? I've read H414 is a favorite among 22-250 varmint shooters and was wondering if anyone has worked up a load for the .223 with H414 and bullets lighter than 82gr? Thanks in advance.

Never done the 414 but have had good success with wc844 and h335. 23.5 grains of powder in front of a rem 7.5br primer with the 69 SMK.

But every gun is different this is what has worked best for mine.

H414 is a little slow for .223 except for very heavy bullets. Hodgdon does list
.223 loads using H414 for 82 grain and 90 grain bullets.

Yup been there ^^ and read those loads. That's actually why I asked if anyone had tried a lighter bullet. From my understanding H414 is very popular for 52-53gr bullets in the 22-250 and the accuracy they are boasting is 1 hole groups out to 300 yards with 5 shots, and as small as 3" groups out to 500yds. That type of accuracy led me to ask if anyone had tried it in .223 with a lighter than 82gr bullet.

H414 won't work very well with .223 Rem. Just because the bullet is similar, a 22-250 would not be a good comparison as the case is quite a bit larger. It will be too slow. H414 is more suited for .243 Win or 30-06. You can try, but you'll probably find it best at full capacity, and that won't be all that great with 52gr bullets.
