    One thing that you could do is remove the action from the rifle and use the now deactivated barrel as your case gauge. No danger of setting off rounds and you KNOW they fit in YOUR chamber.

    This is something I've seen people do with pistol rounds. Remove said barrel, drop all the rounds into said barrel one at a time, re-assembe pistol with said barrel.

      check out wideners.com or other websites, they got some of those gauges pretty cheap! i got a .223 one for 5-10$
      same time you can load up on other stuff!

        A case gauge may or may not tell you if the round will fit in your chamber. In most AR's, if it fits in the case gauge, it's probably being sized too much for your chamber anyway. dw1784 had the right idea. Get a case comparator and adjust your dies to your rifle. You get longer case life and better accuracy.
