    Brass Catcher?

So as I scrabbled about on the ground the other day, trying to figure out which pieces of brass were mine and which belonged to the floor pile, I got annoyed and just threw a few handfuls of brass into my bag to sort through later because it was taking too long.

Since I reload, I definitely want to hold on to my brass. Especially the ones that I'd have to find and/or buy to replace. But since I started shooting my pistols on a much more normal basis, sometimes it's an absolute pain in the *** to find them, especially for indoor ranges where they fly forward and I can't see or distinguish them from others. I've seen pictures of brass catchers online, but can anyone recommend a model, or at least point me to a different method of catching or saving my (pistol) brass? I don't want to buy an overpriced butterfly net that doesn't work, after all.

I use one of these with the c clamp for indoor. Different stem sizes for bench. http://www.cm-machine.com/Ultimate-B...ries_c_25.html

This Brass Catcher eliminates the need to pick up brass, which means more shooting time!

I keep saying I'd make one, never did, best ~$60 I spent. Guys & gals @ the range see me using it, they say they'll make one, never do. A year later, they still haven't made one. Amazon has good deals on tripods if you don't have one already.

I use it for rifle and pistols. Doesn't work that well with Glocks (striker fire types) since the brass shoots straight up. So, with a tripod, I put the catcher right above the pistol, and it will keep the brass from flying too far away. Sometimes I'll catch 50% on a good day with a Glock.

In the mean time, just pick up the other brass to reload with. I went the DIY route like many others here. If you're handy, build one, if not, buy one.
