    Load data question

I picked up some 9mm 115gr FMJ after going through my 115gr Rainer plated bullets. I was able to find data for those using the unique I have, but my manual doesn't have unique listed for fmj rounds.

    The FMJ are Sierra too.

I was using 4.8 gr. unique under the plated bullets.

Not really sure where to start this load with the fmj. I look on Alliant's web site, and for 115gr fmj they only listed BE-86

    Thanks!

    Alliant does list unique...

Here is a page for Reloaders nest...there is a load listed there for a 115 grain Sierra and Unique...I'll let you find it..also MD Smith load pages has a unique and 115 grain jacketed...

Your mileage may vary so approach any maximums with caution...your gun may be much different that other ones.

Handloads.com http://handloads.com/loaddata/defaul...Powder&Source= also has Unique and a 115 fmj projectile...

I don't know what manuals you have but you might need to look into an extra one or two...might keep you on the right track...The links I've listed above are links I often just check to verify what I'm doing...they are older links that many folks use but no substitute for data in a manual...

    Load safe

You can use the starting loads for any 115 grain jacketed bullet and work up.

Thanks for the links, I'll check into them. For the reloadersnest sight. The charge weight listed, is that max or starting? It doesn't state, just says charge weight.

This was the only thing that came up from Alliant's site

            I have a Sierra manual 5th edition from 2003
            It shows 9mm 115gr FMJ, using Unique powder = 4.9gr - 6.6gr
            Hope this helps.
