Hornady SST load data for 6.8SPC 130 gr.?

I need to buy a Hornady book but my Speer book shows load data for 130 gr spitz BTSP and SP for benchmark and 4198 (both powders that I have). Is this data good or should track down Hornady info?

I tried looking on their site but didn't see it. Figure they want to sell books.

And this is for a AR platform 6.8SPC, fwiw.

Well this is a blown load. OAL is 2.357, which won't load in a magazine. Speer shows OAL of 2.25 for a 130 gr.

Jeebus, that was a lot of work measuring out test loads for a round I cant load in my rifle.

What did we learn here today, kids? Check your OAL with a dummy round first and save yourself a bunch of time. Anyone able to use .277 130gr boollits? I have an opened box with 98 left.

Thanks for the info Red Mist. Yeah, I meant H4198.

Should have checked with 68Forum, like I did, when I first started loading 6.8.

You discovered the exact same thing I did, after I bought a box of 130gr SST!

I don't recall if you can singly load a round into your chamber and safely shoot it. I've been looking for a 6.8SPC Thompson Contender barrel to shoot the 130gr.

EDIT: some people snipped the poly tip off to fit in the magazine and some people just loaded the round singly into the chamber.

I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

        Open Magazine Front

        Gents:

I opened the front on a mag and extended the OAL that will feed reliably. If that doesn't work for you, single feed them. If that doesn't work for you, send the 130's my way!
