Federal 9mm brass observation.

I was weighing up some of my reloads and noticed that my Federal 9mm brass with 2 dots next to the "*FC*" is 5.5 grains heavier than the Federal 9mm brass without the 2 dots next to the "FC." I am guessing that the volume of the 2 dot brass is less than the the other brass.

Does anyone know what Federal loads have brass with 2 dots: Maybe it is +P brass?

SUPPOSEDLY:

The brass WITH the dots are made at the Idaho plant.

The brass WITHOUT the dots were made at the Minnesota plant.

The 2 dot version are made at the same factory and on the same machines as Blazer, CCI and Speer brass. If you look at the internals of the case. You will see a slight difference at the bottom of the case. Hence the weight difference. And minimal volume difference.

Caveat: I don't claim the data above is absolutely correct.

Good info. I have a bunch of 9mm Federal brass as well.
