"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one.

I had similar issues with Astound when I first got the 110/10 service. Worked great for the first few days then dropped to 20/10 for a few days and has been solid since. Technical support reported that my modem was in spec, but outside of their preferred values and wanted to send a tech out to take a look. I denied the request since I have both Comcast and Astound service coming into the same house from the same pole and didn't want to lose one or the other. So the plot thickens.
I woke up this morning at 5:00am just before I left for work and tried the speed tests again. I used the EXACT same servers on www.SpeedTest.net as I listed in the pictures last night and whuddyaknow....107/10 for the local Grass Valley server and 109/10 for the San Jose Comcast server. Both pings were 12ms and 15ms, respectively.
Does this mean there's truly no issue on my end and it's just a symptom of over-congested traffic on Wave's network when exiting from their servers to the outside world?
I live in 12 Bridges in Lincoln, which is a development with probably 300-500 houses, and right across 12 Bridges Rd is the Lincoln Hills Del Web retirement community which probably has 3000 houses. Could Wave simply not have enough headroom for the demand in my area?Comment

Just wanted to post an update: Had the Wave tech come out and do some tests. Even before the busy time, he saw that there was an issue. Basically, my connection has been assigned to an over taxed connection "node" in the Wave servers. I have a support ticket to place me in a less congested node and that should fix the problem. He said the signal was fine and proof was that I get full speed at off-peak hours. I agreed.
So now I have to hurry up and wait for them to switch me to a different node.Comment
