Exceeding max resolution on graphics card

I've got a graphics card that supports dual monitors, but max resolution width is 2560, which is petty normal. If I want to go 2 x 1920, what do I do? Two graphics cards in two PCIe slots?

Sounds like you've either got some hokey drivers, or an ancient videocard.

Specifically, what card do you have? Even a geforce 610/750, or a radeon 6400 series shouldn't have an issue if you aren't in need of a gaming card.

Its a 9800gtx+. Cant remember the manufacturer. Actually, even newer graphics cards I've purchased state the max resolution width is 2560. I havent actually tried hooking up the two 1920 monitors yet. Do you think they will just work without issue?

Well there's your problem. That's a max of 2560 for a display(singular), you want to use two displays. Hook up the second monitor and it should also have a max width of 2560.

Sweet! I didn't know that was per display. Thanks.
