Anonymous Operating System and Laptops for Secure online Browsing

So I found this site the other day that is selling refurbished laptops that have been configured to increase user security online. The laptops look pretty sweet and are priced great, but what stood out to me the most is the operating system that they use.

It's called Tails, short for Total Amnesic Incognito Live System. You don't have to install it on your computer, it doesn't store anything on the hard drives, and when you shut your computer down, all traces of it are removed. It forces all internet traffic through the Tor network, and comes with a set of encryption tools for secure communications.

Here's their post on the Operating system. It's free too.

Anybody here have any experience with this?

No Such Agency probably already has a back door in it.
I think the developer's paste the source codes online for anyone to inspect. So either the back door is so sneaky that it can't be found by looking at the code, or it's solid.

I did notice that on the Tails site they make security updates fairly regularly, which would seem to imply there have been several potential back doors in the past.

Ultimately though, I'm considering it from the perspective of; "What OS would be better?"

      Damn sure not Windows

Its usually something like flash that creates the backdoor in systems like that. The system is secure until you use 3rd party software or extensions.

          OPEN PORTS

Any savvy computer geek can get in if they really want to. They can try by tunneling through an open port.
