A warning to all PayPal users

I know this might sound like that whole "poker night" thread but it's not. That being said, don't hesitate to dismiss this as I personally can't confirm it or physically prove it.

Talking to my personal friend that works in PayPal (he's near or at vice CEO status) I honestly don't remember which. But he told me that PayPal keeps more data on you than Facebook does. They just purchased 6 massive computers (64terabytes of ram each to give you a sense of scale.) Worth about 60,000,000 together. These computers jobs are to keep perfect records on you and create hundreds of risk assessments on you. Yes, they do help with fraud protection, but the invasion of privacy is enormous. PayPal keeps records of what device you use, every website you go to on those devices ect.

Take what you want from this, but at the minimum I wouldn't buy questionable things using PayPal.

why use PayPal at all? I never have and I never will, I hope.

if you care about your firearms rights/freedoms or the 2nd amendment....

you should try and stay away from businesses who work against you having those things.

Plus they get hacked by the Russian mafia every 6 mos., and a half million credit card numbers always get posted on their websites because Paypal won't pay the blackmail.

I'd sooner mail my birth certificate, social insecurity card, and all my bank account numbers straight TO "Russian Mafia, Inc." Given the ineptitude of the USPS, that's LESS risky than signing up for Paypal.

Paypal soon to be under new management (Ebay is dumping it). New policies may be coming down the line...

You are right, this is very reminiscent of a poker thread. I was thinking it would started that your dad who knows someone that is related to a person really high up at Paypal.

                        Ebay is NOT dumping PayPal.

To the contrary, PayPal is about to go IPO and spin off about a billion dollars to Ebay shareholders. For those of you who don't speak finance, that means that Ebay is going to make a billion dollars by making PayPal a separate corporation that you can buy shares in. And you should, if you buy stocks at all.

I do delete cookies regularly, I do trust PayPal, certainly more than the IRS, and why would anyone EVER buy something questionable on the internet with a credit card? Dumb like rocks!

(Well, I wouldn't buy anything questionable, ever, but if I did, it would be FTF, check for LEO status and then cash).
