Windows 9 to be free upgrade for Windows 8 users.

This is pretty good news to those who use W8 or W8.1. Some
people like W8, though I have a W8Pro CD and have used the
W8 Pro version here at the house, all my OS is W7 Pro or Ultimate.
I just did not care for W8. Anyway >

Multiple Windows 9 reports have suggested that Microsoft is considering releasing the upcoming platform as a free download to certain existing Windows users. Some said that Windows 8 will get Windows ...

    excerpt
I don't know if the UI will be the same as I've seen from examples
of W9, but I'm just hoping it's more user friendly or something
like W7. I know, I know.. just go Linux, but some don't care to,
so unless it's Apple there's not much left.

    I guess we'll see.

My first thought is they are just re-naming a service pack

I'd look at something besides Windows but I'm learning/using Solidworks, Autocad and Revit CAD programs and they are all Windows and I don't want to get an extra Window emulation that runs on Apple or Linux just to surf the web non-Windows.

Everyone complains about the Bill Gates monopoly but in software one program can become a billion installs overnight. I'm surprised some Govt like Japan, Germany, France with enough juice hasn't declared they are standardizing on a Linux or even throw some of their tax dollars at creating their own new and better system.

I don't think the entire cost of developing an Operating System with all the goodies in even close to a 1/2 dozen jet fighters.
Am I a good shot!?!, YEAH I'M A GOOD SHOT!....i just got bad aim

Got Win7. Don't want to buy Win8. How can you get free Win8 to download Win9?

And calling it Windows 9 because most don't like 8.

XP was relatively solid, 7 even better. Going to be tough to follow.
