Help me pick a logo for an iOS/Android app!

    Hey guys,

I've been working on an iOS/Android app and ended up going with 99designs.com for the logo design. Several designers pool in their entries, directly competing with each other for the top pick. I received some decent submissions and I'm trying to narrow it down to the top few. I would appreciate feedback/poll entries for those so inclined. I'm not artistic unfortunately, so I don't trust my own opinion.

    Link to poll:

The app will use the fingerprint sensor to exchange social media/contact info in a secure, efficient manner. It is a central gateway to connect all social networks through one streamlined solution. What you see below are some of the finalist designs from a team of graphic designers we hired. We need to narrow this down to the top 6. Please rate your favorite designs on a quality scale of 1-5. Thanks!

      This was an entertaining challenge.

#51. 5/5 - Best one, hands down. Maybe. Except for #39.

#52. 1/5 - Green's my favorite color normally, but the blue looks a lot better on this one.

#15. 1/5 - It's a cross between a google maps push pin and you flipping me off. Do not want.

#22. 1/5 - Muddled and indistinct. Too busy. Also, WTF - the coriolis effect? weather patterns? Super hurricane going to cut Mexico in half?

#25. 1/5 - That looks like Professor Farnsworth's silhouette with some jagged lines, put in front of ... a weather map or something? (Great news, everybody! I've got the worst logo idea ever!)

#27 - 2/5 - Still muddled and busy, but at least this one is obviously a fingerprint. But the blue and white striping superimposed over the globe is somewhat reminiscent of the old AT&T logos.

      #28 - 4/5 - Not terrible.

#29 - 3/5 - Also not terrible, but it would be a point better if it were blue instead of green. (I don't know why, but for some reason green just seems terrible for your logo, and that's odd - like I said, green's my favorite color normally.)

#36 - 1/5 - ****ing hideous. Far too busy with the superhurricane smashing Mexico, but this time we also appear to be showing satellites in orbit? Are you sending my ****ing fingerprints to the NSA by satellite? This logo is a terrible idea.

#37 - 2/5 - This is bland and inoffensive, and looks like the hotsync button logo for a ca.1999 Palm Pilot. I'm not sure who the legal successor to Palm is at the moment, but you would probably get sued over this one.

#39 - 5/5 - This one is remarkably decent. It incorporates the fingerprint, plus the technology side of things. I do not hate this at all, and in fact it's high on my list of not-terribles here.

      #40 - 1/5 - Creepy and NSA-associated. I don't like my fingerprints or my 1's and 0's under anyone's magnifying glass.

#48 - 3/5 - Text is nice, logo is okay.

#49 - 1/5 - Nope, this is painful to look at. Fake 3D button, awful. I hate the fact that I can't give this one any less than 1 point out of 5.

      #58 - 3/5 - Looks like magnetic fields? Meh.

#59 - 1/5 - Looks like the logo for a supervillain's mercenary army, but with a superhurricane about to slap the **** out of Africa.

      #60 - 2/5 - Meh.

#65 - 3/5 - Less terrible than many. Looks a little too much like the logo for Thermaltake, though.

#74 - 2/5 - Is this a gay horseshoe app? Maybe something for the gay Indianapolis Colts fans?

#82 - 3/5 - Looks like a hunchback, so there's a little bit of comedy value at least.

Thumber ? Sounds like someone with a bad lisp trying to say Summer !

Don't people swipe their index finger anyways?

              Anywho's

Haha, the B is pronounced...it's supposed to be a contraction of thumb and number. But for the reason you pointed out, it may ultimately be renamed. You're not the first person to bring that up.

                  No prob.

BTW, I wasn't going for comedy there, although I'm glad it was funny. Those were honest stream-of-consciousness first impressions of each one. Literally the first things to go through my head on seeing them. Make of it what you will.

Peter's right on. On ones I didn't like I simply didn't rate them at all, and added a comment on two where I felt they were worthless. Good luck.

I liked the "fingerprint as ocean" effect on #59, but get rid of the bracket, and make the blue brighter in the black version.
