    best TV under $1500

    Hey folks,

I am reluctant to give up my tube TV but I think it is time for a new tech. It is for general TV watching and no gaming or any special use. Trying to stay around $1500. Any suggestions or recommendations would be great.

I bought a Samsung 50" widescreen from Costco last year for around $1200. Very happy with it.

Extremely happy with this. I found it on sale for $1,499.

Best picture ever and converts 2d into 3d.

Something sold at Costco. 2 Year warranty.
Beyond that, look at the reviews.

Samsung.. no doubt in my mind. They kill it with their TV's. Get the most you can afford, because in 6 months, that model will be absolute but still great

You may want to buy a plasma before they are gone depending on your viewing room. Barring that I would drop $1250 on the Samsung UN55F9000...4k...great picture...no tax + free shipping.

                Great deal.

OP if you have a Costco card head over there. You can see the items and as someone mentioned it will have the Costco guarantee. I bought a Samsung 50 inch Smart TV there last year, less than 800, prices have gone down since then.

Panny plasma. Get the best one in your price range. Good colors (more realistic in tone than LCDs), best contrast for dark or shadowed scenes and a very fast refresh rate with no noticeable motion blur on fast action scenes. Plasmas are by far the best bang for your buck in visuals. They are great for action movies and gaming.

The only downside is they are not great in rooms that have a lot of light or that have windows facing the TV. If your room is like that, get an LCD.

(Costco was selling the mid range 55 inch panny plasmas for $600 last year. I don't thinly they are carrying plasmas anymore so you may have to look around on line).
