Anyone know how to unlock a sprint Iphone 5c?
"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."Tags: None -
Unlocking is illegal. You have to have your buddy call and see if they can unlock it from sprint

I'm getting mixed messages. When i called verizon they said they might have someone around who could unlock it with software, and when i went to go get my phone's screen cracked the guy told me it's "impossible", which i'm a firm believer in nothing's impossible.
On sprints website it says that they have "master subsidy unlock code" in which you can call and try and get. So we called, and the guy on the phone told us we were crazy.

If the phone is no longer under contract, you might be able to get Sprint to unlock it for you. Other than that, you'd have to enlist the help of an unscrupulous third party who works for a Sprint dealer/shop to do it.
Most phones sold in the US are locked to a carrier. The exception is Verizon phones that are LTE-capable. When Verizon bought the 700MHz C-Block spectrum during the FCC auction, they had to agree to some terms, which includes open-access to any compatible device.
As a result, these Verizon phones are sold unlocked. That's why you can get an iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5S that's of the Verizon flavor and then be able to use it on carriers such as AT&T (the iPhone 5 won't do LTE on AT&T's network due to its chip not supporting LTE on AT&T's carrier spectrum, won't work at all on Sprint's network). The iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C from Verizon are fully compatible (except when used on Sprint's network).
Which carrier are you planning to use this Sprint iPhone 5C on anyway? If it's not Sprint or one of their MVNOs (Boost Mobile), it's a lost cause because it won't work on AT&T or Verizon's network (including their MVNOs).
An MVNO = mobile virtual network operator like Boost Mobile (uses Sprint's carrier spectrum), MetroPCS uses T-Mobile's, etc.Comment

Specifically verizon. Thanks for the info by the way."Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. You're welcome. Since you originally mentioned that it was a Sprint phone, I didn't want you to waste any time or effort getting it unlocked since it wouldn't work on AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon.
I was thinking that maybe you were hoping to use it on Boost Mobile. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news. You can either sell it as is or pay to have the cracked screen fixed, then sell it for more. Check your craigslist area for what the going price is for both a cracked and not-cracked/working phone.Comment

Every GSM Android I ever had just asks for an unlock code if you put another provider's SIM in it.
Upgrade to a GSM (provider &) Android...
It will be easier to just SIM-Swap whenever you get a new device this way, and you won't have to shell-out so much to your provider, or run on a super-proprietary OS that caters ads only to the built-in browser called Safari...Last edited by the86d; 06-24-2014, 4:36 AM.Comment

You can call sprint customer care and let them know you will travel outside USA and would like to use local sim. Sprint will unlock it for you, but then you have to factory reset the phone in order for the unlock to take effect.
But, unless you are really going to use your phone outside of USA, it is kind of useless doing the unlock since sprint is on CDMA system and rest of providers are not. Verizon might be but their service contact is more expensive. Also, I think the unlock is only limited to the sim portion. In the States, I don't think the sim slot will work.Comment

Look on Craigs list for iPhone repair.
The shops that charge $40 to swap the glass can usually do a lot of other things-
Unlock
Recover passwords
Jail break
Etc.Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
