    Anyone using an OOMA VOIP?

Vonage continues to LIE to me about the taxes and declare the taxes to be 14/month while the fees are 9.99/month. While OOMA (same service) is only charging FED taxes of 4.10/month and NO service fee. So its FREE phone calls for LIFE and you only pay the FED taxes of (in Idaho 3.85/month).

OOMA users let me know what you think.

My mom just ordered one from Costco. Once it get's here I'll have to port her number over to Ooma.

I have used a MagicJack, and went to PhonePower, then gave up, and finished my contract with VZ Fios and dropped the phone line ($50/month savings) (when I got a new alarm system(, but I had to cancel my service and get new service to do so). No VOIP service could work with my alarm system, so I had to stay with a land-line-actual, and you can't really fax from cheap VOIP service.

I just use Google voice number that does not ring my cell phone (Voice not even installed) and I give that (and only THAT number out)... The only people that call (that don't have my cell number) are telemarketers anyway. All my credit card vendors and utilities only have the Google voice number. An unlimited cell phone plan helps, and I found it was cheaper to just get an unlimited cell-plan (unless it was Verizon, but their prices have changed) than to use a VOIP line... before OOMA was around, or really known. Anyone who calls the Google Voice number goes to VM, and gets transcribed into an e-mail, and I could listen to the recording if I desire...

Why do you need a land-line(/VOIP) at all?

And your total fees are 4/month?

I've been using Ooma for about 2 years as well. It is a bit under $4 a month. Ignore the $10 charges as those were for prepaid credit for international calling.

Five years and counting, wish I had done it sooner. Less than $4 a month in taxes/fees. Absolutely perfect sound quality and never had a problem in 5 years.

Like wise. Beats the heck out of paying the land line company $16.00 for no calls

OOMA is great, like the other have said it is less than $4 a month for basic service - the initial cost isn't cheap, but once you have the equipment you are off and running.

The 30/yr kills it for me. OOMA is free for life.
