    Apple Airport Extreme

I have an Apple Airport Extreme, older pancake design, connected to a Verizon DSL modem (model 6110F), currently working.

Bought a new Airport Extreme, tower design, I was naive enough to think it would be plug and play with my DSL modem - wrong.

The two won't pair. Anything I can do on my end or is this a endless call to Verizon.

They should pair. It would help if you can post the configs of the old airport (minus all the sensitive info, of course)

Are you trying to extend the existing network by running both base stations at once, or do you want to swap the old airport out for the new? If the latter, try having them both turned on (with your old one hooked up to the DSL) at the same time. The latest Airport software includes a pretty slick migration function that surprised me when I replaced my "pancake" with a new 802.11ac Time Capsule.

(Is your DSL service DHCP or PPPoE?)

Turn off your DSL modem for several minutes while you plug in your new router. Some providers 'lock' their modems with one router MAC Address (hardware address) at a time so turning it off clears that association.

Still set for dhcp right and ip info isn't hardcoded in config?

That is usually the case. If the ip is manually configured, then you can get that data off the old router.
