How Do I Indent Text Here?

I am far from expert at using computers.

When I visit other sites I indent text by placing it between

.

I tried that here and the text was not indented.

What symbols/words must I use to indent text?

Just post what should be at the beginning and end of the text I want to indent.

EDIT: Apparently, bracketing Indent at the beginning of the text and bracketing /Indent at the end of the text DOES WORK!!!!
