    Troubleshoot Windows 7/monitor problem please

    Motherboard MSI FM2-A75MA-E35
    CORSAIR XMS 8GB DDR3 STICK
    WINDOWS 7 PRO 64BIT
    SAMSUNG 840 SSD
    MSI R7790 1GB PCIE 3.0
    corsair CX 430w Power
    AMD A8-5600K 3.6Ghz CPU

VIDEO CARD IS OUTPUT TO 3 24" AOC MONITORS. 2 VIA DVI AND 1 VIA HDMI TO DVI ADAPTER.

I keep a lot of Firefox tabs open as well as Chrome and IE.
Pretty much 3 FIrefox windows with 20 or so tabs each.
    1 Chrome with 20 tabs
    1 IE with 5 tabs
Only other programs I keep open is Quickbooks/Excel and they seem unaffected.

    Problem:

Recently when I scroll down a page with lots of pictures or even sometimes no pictures the page I am using goes black either entirely or in some spots. It only happens on the page I am using and the other monitors/windows/pages are not affected unless I click on them.

DO I need more CPU memory, more graphics memory, or second graphics card?

I also want to run more monitors in the near future to 6 total. What should I upgrade and what is good to keep?

Check the specs on your video card. Maybe this has changed in the past few years, but all cards were limited to driving a maximum of two monitors in DVI because only two clocks are provided for this output. HDMI is also signaled from this same clock, so you can have 2 DVI, 1 DVI and 1 HDMI, or 2 HDMI.

I believe you will need one monitor connected through display port, or add another video card (a cheap one) to output on the third monitor.

Forgot to answer your other question.

There are a few specific Radeon cards that can output to 6 monitors as once, but these are displayport.

Easiest/cheapest way to get more monitors is to add another video card.

I've been running my card as DVI, DVI, HDMI for over a year with no issues but I appreciate you telling me about that issue. I will get a displayport to dvi adapter to see how that works but I honestly don't think that is the issue. I closed down IE and Chrome as well as 1 window of Firefox and it seems like it is running better. That leads me to think it is a memory issue but I am clueless about whether it is a video card or system board memory issue.

I want to add another card but it looks like my motherboard only has a spare pcie x1 and PCI slot. I think I need 2 PCIe 16 slots at minimum for what I ultimately want. The 6 displayport adapter won't run my DVI monitors unless I get adapters. For the cost of adapters I might as well start looking at a better mainboard and 2 video cards.

        Tough decisions.

Get a 550W power supply to start, especially if you plan to add more video cards later. Your 430W PS isn't cutting it.

I just looked inside my case. It's a corsair cx500.
