        Again, why?

I can proclaim anything too, but unless I provide reasons, it's just hot air on the interweb.

I only ask because I'm trying to determine the best available browser and I'm a logical person who needs data.

It's a known malware item... download and run malwarebytes from malwarebytes.org

Safari on OS X may be passable regarding design (follows common UI theme, menu layout, dock functions, etc.) and speed, but on Windows it is a horrible browser. The UI doesn't follow any normal Windows application style, the performance is sub par, it is not updated fast enough to correct security flaws/bugs/etc, it uses WebKit (might as well use chrome if that's what you want), it is not well coded on Windows, and it tries to sneak installs of other apple software on your computer through updates. Does it even support or have plugins on Windows?

Honestly I don't follow Safari for Windows, things may be different, but who cares? Why did apple even write a version of Safari for Windows? Only good answers I can think is to appease apple users on Bootcamp, trick people in to installing iTunes, Quicktime, etc, or... I don't know.

If you want a good web browser, get Firefox, install adblock plus, and ghostery.

To the OP: If you want to get rid of the crap that you integrated in IE, get malwarebyte's and run a full system scan, remove everything it finds.

Then use Sysinternal's Autoruns to disable any BHO's and other garbage registered to IE. If you aren't comfortable messing with this have someone you know do it for you.

Firefox with adblock and ghostery plugins is the best

              I'll add the flash blocker.
Youtube will still work, you just have to 'play' each video. However all the annoying ads embedded on websites will be automatically frozen:

Apparently you really need an i7 to run IE functionally, and quickly.
An i5 loads it up quick too, but both drag when you default to a M$ site.
IE for surfing the web is like poking a bunch of nasty-chicks, unprotected.
(You'd get something you can't get rid of, AND child support payments.)

Firefox user here since early beta, and I don't know why this question keeps getting asked on so many threads...
The answer is ALWAYS SIMPLY "DON'T USE IE EXCEPT TO INSTALL ANOTHER BROWSER, THEN REMOVE THE ICON SO YOU ARE NOT TEMPTED TO GET THE INTERNET-CLAP!"
