    PBX Phone system

Is anyone using a PBX Phone System?
I am thinking of switching my office phones to a PBX
    Any thought on this ?
    Has anyone use it wireless?
    How about soft Phones
We have remote sales people and it would be nice to forward calls back and forth.

Sounds like you are looking for an IP based PBX... PBXs units are also available for analog copper phone lines.

You might want to look into Ringcentral. I use the hosted PBX service and it works out great for me.

Shoretel works pretty well, w/few issues, but I just support them, and can not speak of set-up.

Why not just a VoIP system?
We used a Cisco System which allows your Extension to be on your desk, your wireless phone and your softphone.
If your cell phone was off prem, the system would just call forward your calls when you dial your extension.

VoIP / IP PBX... same difference.

Its why I recommend Ringcentral... you get everything you mentioned in a hosted service without having to buy the backend infrastructure.

We are using Charter now which is VoIP which work's fine for the most part but we have three deferent locations so it would be nice to have it so it forwards to the correct office or back to one of the other office's if one is busy . If this make since? Also each office has around three or four staff member's.

Ring Central is one I was looking at
Extreme what kind of phone are you using?

Ring Central, 8x8 are ok for the mom and pop shop but it may have problems with the bandwidth especially scene they are flying wide open on the internet.
Most good hosted systems use router and there own private internet networks.
One of the best (my opinion) IP PBX is Allworx for cost and a system that work.

pm me if you want too talk. Rick

                Polycom VVX 410
                Softphone on PC
and the Ringcentral iPhone app just for outgoing if I need to mask my personal cell #

Connecting your 3 locations should be a walk in the park. Everything will work like its one big phone system in a single location.

What you are asking can easily be accomplished using the call routing and rules features in the user control website.

You will have a main company phone and fax # which can be routed to an auto attendant should you want that.
Each user also gets a direct dial phone number and extension + a direct fax which is tied to e-mail for in and outbound.

I install ESI systems, they have a couple of options that will do what you want. They have a digital system that can handle remote IP phones. Or you can put a system at all sites and link them over the cloud. They have a direct dial feature you can call extensions and transfer calls using their 4 digit extension number, regardless of their location. They also have full IP boxes if your set on IP.
