DJI Phantom Quadcopter can't see satellites

I have new DJI quadcopter and it only sees about 4-5 satellites. Not seeing the 6 to have the get home feature let alone the typical 12 or satellites DJI claims it should see.

It's not blocked by buildings, trees etc. I've done the initialization dance and all was well. Any DJI gurus out there have any ideas or thoughts?

    TIA

Thanks, man. You enjoying your Phantom? Did it take you a while to learn how to fly it?

EZ to fly , just don't want to push it until I can see enough satellites to get the "go home" feature to work. 1st flight was just putting around and within 30 I was flying all over the place just zipping around

Used a drum gel to dampen the jello. I wish there would be a way to get more time (more than 8 minutes) out of it. I hear the gen 2 have about 12 minutes. I was to buy another on e I would look at at that, but the 1st gens as so cheap I couldn't pass it up. There are some amazing things you can do with them and the HD video from the GoPro.

Someday I would like to get FPV so I can see the camera view in realtime. There are some decent ones out there for about $250-$350

Have you tried pulling it into the Naza software and done a system Re calibration? Are there any strong signals near where you fly like Powerful wifi routers or anything else? Specifically stuff running on the lower frequency bands like 433mhz or similar?

Sell it and buy open source hardware and save money in the process. As far as your problem I am of no help.

Go to RCGroups and ask around there. I'm slowly getting into the quads as well. Learning on a nano qx using a dx6i tx, have a blade 350qx arriving in a few days and then will move on to a full FPV setup. Fun stuff!
