anyone here have a DIY 3d printer ?

wondering if anyone here is into 3d printing and maybe printing 3d parts kits such as the reprap or the many others ? ....

thinking about playing around with building quadcopters and such so looking for the parts to build a printer and figured i would ask our large community before buying a kit online

I don't own one but I've seen it at work making prototype parts at my friends shop. He says that it saves him time & money when developing something new. The finished product is not very strong in comparison to a machined part. I think it would be fine to make R/C plane parts and wish I had one when I was building planes. The one he has cost about $2500.

I bought the book "printing in plastic" as soon as it came out as I was attempting to build a CNC machine. then life happened. I still have all the components up in the attic, but had to get rid of the machine when we moved. I still want to build the router and a computer to run it, but the the space for it first. I might have the downloaded book that they sent me somewhere in my archives if I did not loose it when I had a crash. Let me know if you want it. Or if you want the paper version, open to offers (if I can find it).

One of these days I'm going to add an extruder head to my router ...
