    Building a basic gaming tower?

I am trying to put together a tower to dedicate to World of Warcraft , I have a dell 2 core tower that needs windows installed , I need a couple sticks of memory and a decent 512-1g graphics card. Anyone have any spare parts ? Or know a cheap place to find used parts?

Newegg is probably your best friend for computer parts. What exactly is the setup you have and what is your budget?

check craigslist for used parts. youre in luck that WoW requires low grade hardware to function.

It was running wow at 30-90 FPS depending on where the character is at the time and how much was going on.
But when this towers os crashed I took out the card and some memory to playin my wife's tower, so I need another graphics card and some more ram.

Depends on your motherboard then. That computer has some mileage behind it. Not knowing your budget, it might be a good idea to build a new low end gaming computer. It week be night and day I can promise you

            Function? Sure.

            Function well? Definitely not.

WoW is getting more intensive in terms of hardware as effects (spells/abilities) and other graphic improvements (redesigned maps & environments) continue to advance.

WoW is not Crysis (remember when it crashed a NASA computer?).... But even with settings turned all the way down, your FPS will suck or even not be able to see certain effects during fights, without some decent hardware.

I would check the hardware requirements of whichever version of WoW you're playing...

EDIT: Looked at your last post, I would definitely suggest a new machine. That's some old hardware. RAM and graphics cards upgrades will only go so far. The new hardware out there is amazing. I need to build a new computer badly.

That said... I started playing WoW in BC, a few months before WOTLK was released, but I stopped playing a bit over 1 year ago. The Panda expansion was just not fun to me and I didn't like some of other changes. I'm hoping the new expansion will bring me back. I miss the old days.
