Recommend me a Wireless router for under $100

Wise choice. I had a Linksys router before and going over to the Netgear one was a lot easier to install and configure.

I ended up buying a netgear the day after I posted this.

All hardware is purpose driven. I have always had good luck with Linksys. Partially depends on your internet connection speed, streaming data(media) constantly, or regularly transferring large files on your home network. I have an old 54G works good no hiccups with 3-4 computers, smart phones, and media players on it. If you are not streaming or not transferring large files regularly 100 Mbps wired and 54 Mbps wireless should be fine for regular use(web browsing, emial, watching you tube). Plus the price is right see below hope this helps.

I have always had problems with Linksys routers. They only last a year or 2 before they need to be reset almost every day. I switched to the Apple Airport Extreme and have had no problems with it.

Get the Asus N66 router. You won't be disappointed. I've used Linksys, NetGear, D-Link routers before and after getting the Asus router I'm amazed at what it can do. I've setup an external HD to the router, setup a Guest network and turn it on/off when needed and overall I get better signal with it wherever I am around the house.


It will be a 100 bucks well spent.

Alright guys, my at&t gateways wireless functions took a dump on me.

Called at&t, figured I just had to restart the modem/router and it turns out that they want to send a tech to make sure the modem is actually dead..

Rolleyes.


Here's my dilemma..I've been in the dark for a while and I am now find out that you can bridge the gateway and get a seperate router.

So whats the best router/ gatewaysetup out there?
