Internet safety and security for children

My kids, 3 and 8, are getting android tablets for Christmas. It is actually a gift for me because I will finally be able to use my own iPad. Here is the issue, in order to get the plants V zombies and such, we need email accounts for the tablets. I don't want them associated with my personal or business email accounts for various reasons so I am thinking of starting gmail accounts for both of them. On the off chance that they do not destroy their tablets, they may be using them for a while. I want to give them completely random email account names but I cant think of anything. any ideas?

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

in addition to the email. For the regular PC I use Kaspersky Internet suite for my kid. You can block all websites with xxx , gambling, language, chat etc. maybe they have one for the tablets you are buying. Its usually free at Frys with a mail in rebate.

Get an OpenDNS subscription - free for home use. You can block bad stuff for all machines on your network, no software needed except for the IP address updater. Perfect for tablets.

That's the issue with iPads, single user access shared across family. If not purchased, get Windows 8 tablets. This way you can create individual accounts, and identify them as child account and have full control on what they do across all machines and tablets.

I have 2 Surface tablets, 1 desktop and 3 laptops all running Windows 8. The same login works and is synced across the devices. Using Microsoft Family Safety, I can filter websites, videos, games, applications easily but also limit per day use, and curfew hours. This has been the best feature of these tablets, never looking back

Even the Windows Phone has Kids Corner which is completely separate and configurable section. They cannot touch any email and other stuff
