    BSOD

Unfortunately I am at work and don't have the dump file on hand... but I recently had to re install windows because I got a new MOBO...(RMA'd the first one) up until then I had no issues with stability... NOW I am experiencing random BSOD....

My question is.. is it possible to have bad RAM even if memtest86 doesn't pick up any errors( ran all night)?? Once I get home I will update post with dump codes.

    thanks.

BSOD is a very difficult side-effect to diagnose. If you passed all stages with memtest, I would say with confidence your RAM is fine. If you are still using a mechanical harddrive then the fault might position itself with bad sectors, bad seeker needles etc. Temperatures might be going weird, I would recommend monitoring them with www.speccy.com under the CPU section of the program. Get ccleaner and do registry scans to see if you got any 'cancer' in your registry that needs fixing. Lastly, try running a burn-in test with Passmark's burn tool. Report back.

      ok quick update.

This is the string code:0x00000124, using blue screen viewer I can see its being caused by the hal.dll.

I have ran a quick cpu stress test using PRIME95 ( 15 mins) no issues....I used Furmark for my VC..... no issues.

I do have a mechanical drive as my secondary drive...my OS and main drivers are on an SSD. I will test and advise.

*side note: I had my GPU and CPU over clocked... I put the GPU back to stock and brought the CPU down a little before running those test.

Some SSDs are having issues, as of late. SSD firmware?

        Windows updates, Driver updates?

If you were overclocked it was probably a voltage issue. Give her more power

                      i5 3570k.

This is a stable clock for my chip.... I was running it for a few months until I had to RMA my mobo.

Do you have the proper cooling for that OC (i.e. using full size tower and not some mid size tower with at least proper fan circulation if not watercooling for the CPU)?

Thats a decent chip. If I ever upgrade to Z77, I would get that chip but for now Im looking for an i5 2500

full size case... positive air flow... and a water cooling loop ( Antec Kuler)... at idle I sit at around 30 to 28c... under full load( prime95) it gets to 56c

so since I have tuned back the CPU and GPU over clocks we are at a full day no BSOD.
