SECURED tunnels (via SSH) to login to plain-text-login devices on home LAN secure...

I was looking through this thread: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...d.php?t=853278 and decided to doink with an SSH tunnel.

It worked flawlessly, 1st try. SSH into Linux box, then hit http ports on remote-net over that tunnel, SUPER SIMPLE!

My cameras don't support audio over SSL, so I was without audio, but now EVERYTHING inside my home-net can be accessed over that connection if I set-up a tunnel to them through putty.

Here is the simple instructions I used:

I know many of you have done this for years, it worked my 1st try... why did I not dig into this before?!?!

My son is latch-key these days, and I needed to know he was okay while was at work (and make sure he was doing his homework), and to help him out if he had an issue.

This solution gave me secure('er) access to my cameras that do not even support https/ssl.
