        The Kindle Fire is Not a true android device. It is a modified android system that amazon created. It doesnt even have Google play store.

                Kindle Fire hardware is 100% compatible with Android 4.2.2. True, the FIRE OS is a modified android base, the fact remains, the HW is 100% compatible.

                Takes less than 10 minutes to install Google Play store on the kindle fire HD.

                I am very happy with my Kindle Fire. There are certainly other options, but they are not necessarily any better, just different.
