    Windows Server 2003 Password Question

Can someone please tell me how I can make the password screen appear upon resuming after the screen saver - other than the screen saver setting in properties?

I have tried the screensaver password on resume, but that does not seem to work. I know there is another place to change that setting so you need get the logon screen after the screen saver goes off, but I can't seem to remember where?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Try looking in the group policy editor. There should be a setting there that allows you to do that.

      Thanks watt79, I appreciate that.
Tomorrow is my last day at work and I wanted to help out my boss with that question. I have built systems in the past, but only hardware and back in the days from 8088's to early Pentiums. I know enough about network software to be a real danger.

If you are checking the "on resume show login screen" box, and its not working, then you probably have some policies being applied through the domain or possibly only on that server.

Is it on a domain? If so you will need to edit the global group policy applied to that server, often applied at the top level or on top of the Organizational Unit that server belongs too.

If not on a domain, set it in the Group Policy editor (under administrative tools on the control panel).

Lost your login password is never a good feeling, but there are ways to help get past it. Here are 3 efficient ways to reset your fogotten login password on Windows 7 computer & laptop and create a new Admin account.

It works on all versions of Windows.

Thx everyone. I'll show him the thread. It's my last day at work before moving to OK so it won't matter much to me anymore... Woohoo
